Good mornin’ to you!
It’s Monday, and if you are just catching up…
Weekend Posts
That should bring us back up to speed.
On to new business.
This weekend the ole’ blog had a couple of honors // recognitions.
Friday
Meg at A Dash of Meg recognized my efforts at the Winthrop Half Marathon last weekend in her High Five Friday Series.
Meg is such a doll.
So encouraging, and a definitely a positive light here in the ‘blogosphere.’ She is also a nutrition major, so check out her blog for some great recipes, workout tips, and general healthy advice

- Contact the bloggers that you have chosen and let them know about the award.
How cool is that?!
7 Facts about myself
1. I was adopted. It’s kind of an interesting story. My birth mom and adoptive mother are sisters, so I know half of my “real” family. My little brother and I are true siblings too, even though were both adopted – cool, huh? I have never really had any desire to find or have any sort of relationship with my birth father. The only thing that interests me is to see a picture, and to get a medical history [being a health nerd and all].
2. I used to live in a German theme town, called Leavenworth.
And I took ballet lessons from a woman who also was the curator of the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum. She was Conan O’Brien’s first guest after returning to late night on TBS. Bizarre. Leavenworth also has a crazy, random tourism ad…
So weird.
3. I used to teach a Sit and Be Fit style class at retirement and nursing homes around Rochester.
It was actually really fun, and I loved the ladies and gents I worked with. So sweet and appreciative. And no, I did not wear leg warmers while teaching.
4. Despite my recent dietary restrictions, my favorite food will always be old fashioned glazed donut holes.
Good question!
It’s gotta be a donut hole, because I like the density much more compared to a regular donut. My other favorite guilty treats: gum drops, candy orange slices, and black licorice. I know, I know. I have the taste buds of a 90 year old.
5. I used to be deathly afraid of E.T. As a child, I thought E.T. was going to come up out of the toilet and bite me in the butt. Don’t ask me where I got that… I’m fairly certain there was no scene in the movie where E.T. nibbled on buttchecks. haha
Come on, he’s just creepy.
6. When I lived in New York City, I worked as a hostess in a restaurant across from Lincoln Center called Cafe Fiorello that had a lot of famous patrons come in. Personally, I got to see Barbra Walters, Fran Drescher [who was super nice], some guy from CSI – Richard something I think? [I never watch, therefore didn’t know him], Lisa something or other [the one with the big fat lips that was on Dancing with the Stars – another show I don’t watch], and Paul Schaffer [the trumpet player on Letterman].
7. I love getting my teeth cleaned. I know that the dentist is either a love or hate relationship for most people, but I always make sure my mom makes an appointment for me when I come home. I just love the feeling a clean, sparkling teeth. I really should hate going to the dentist as my mouth was super messed up as a child – I had to have all, but maybe 6 baby teeth pulled because they simply would not fall out. I had a spreader twice, and 4 permanent teeth pulled too. My mouth is {or was} just teeny tiny, I guess. Now it’s just loud. ha
